As today we were given the
Future Intelligence brief, it firmly concreted that I want to have a career
within trend forecasting and art direction, as I can’t wait to start the
project. We have been put into groups for the Cultural Radar task, after last
year’s Unit X I am rather apprehensive about working collaboratively but also
excited. Alex has given us 6 starting points for our presentations - Lifestyle/
Technology/ Environmental/ Political/ Economic /Cultural.
My group, which consists of
Grace Davies, Alice Pickworth and myself all specialise in print, however we
still have different strengths which I feel will benefit us in this task. After
splitting off to brainstorm our Group were really inspired by the
'Environmental' concept. Our starting point was 'Over-population' so decided to
put all of our ideas down on post-it notes. Here are some of the ideas we came
up with.
We are really inspired by this idea so believe we can create a resource that will inspire others too. However we briefly looked at a more 'cultural' theme, exploring the idea of how TV effects fashion. Looking at programmes which have cult followings such as Breaking Bad, The Wire and Dexter. Although we were less inspired by this so decided to go straight ahead with the Over-population idea.
